After you connect you can send the word talk and that will put you in a converse mode with any other station that has also sent the talk command. This tnc is set up with NetRom so it doesn't have a personal bulletin board. To get out of talk send /ex on a line by itself.
You can use the node as a digi like w3icf v fdk when you are not connect.
If you are connected and not in talk, you can just use c w3icf to connect.
If you are connected go to the command mode and send disc and you will disconnect.
After you connect you can send h for a help list on the meanings
